Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 3, 2026
This policy explains how Formbell, a Google Forms add-on made by Lazy Labs ("we"), handles data. Formbell is designed so that your form responses stay inside your Google account.
1. What Formbell accesses
Formbell requests these Google permissions:
- View and manage the form it is installed in (forms.currentonly): to read questions and responses of that form so rules can be evaluated.
- Send email as you (script.send_mail): to send the emails defined by your rules, and test emails to yourself.
- Run when you are not present (script.scriptapp): to process new responses automatically with a trigger.
- Connect to an external service (script.external_request): only to check a Pro license key with our payment provider.
- Display a sidebar (script.container.ui): to show Formbell inside Google Forms.
- See your email address (userinfo.email): to limit test emails to your own address.
2. Where data is processed and stored
- Form responses are processed inside Google Apps Script under your Google account. We do not run servers that receive your responses.
- Your rules, email templates and the send log are stored in your form's Apps Script properties in your Google account.
- The send log keeps up to the latest 200 entries per form, shared by all rules of that form, and only entries from the last 30 days can be viewed or resent. Expired entries are deleted the next time Formbell runs. You can delete a form's shared Formbell rules and log from that form. Account-data deletion removes your own Formbell account data and triggers; shared settings and records in other forms must be deleted from those forms. These actions do not delete the form's original responses or cancel a subscription.
3. What leaves your Google account
- Emails you configure. Formbell sends emails through your Google account to the recipients you set in your rules.
- License checks. If you use Pro, Formbell sends your license key and activation information, including an activation label or instance identifier when applicable, to our payment provider, Dodo Payments, to activate and check the license. It does not send response content, recipient addresses or email text.
- Operational logs. Formbell may write aggregate execution diagnostics, such as the app version, fixed error codes, counts and timings, to Apps Script or Google Cloud logs that may be accessible to Lazy Labs. These logs exclude form answers, recipient addresses, email content, license keys, authorization links, and form, response or owner identifiers. They are separate from the support diagnostics you choose to copy, and neither is a complete history of your form responses. Google may also attach execution metadata, including a temporary active user key, to these logs. This metadata is separate from the diagnostic fields Formbell writes.
- Support diagnostics you choose to share. The add-on can show a diagnostic summary that you can copy into a support request. It contains only the version, rule counts, counts by send state, error codes and times. It never contains responses, addresses or email content.
4. Payments
Pro subscriptions are sold by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. Dodo Payments collects and processes billing information under its privacy policy. We receive order and subscription records from Dodo Payments, such as your billing email, plan and payment status, to provide support and manage your license.
5. Use of Google user data
Formbell's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. Humans at Lazy Labs do not read your form data, except when you share it with us for support.
6. Data retention and deletion
- Use the add-on's form-data and account-data deletion controls before uninstalling or revoking access if you want to remove Formbell data. Uninstalling or revoking access alone does not establish that stored data has been deleted. Expired log entries are deleted on the next run, as described above.
- We retain subscription records as required for tax and accounting. Dodo Payments describes its retention practices in its privacy policy.
- You can revoke Formbell's access at any time in your Google Account under Security, Third-party apps with account access.
7. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, show a notice in the add-on.
